I have always been creating art of all sorts from a young age and was encouraged by my parents to pursue the arts in college. I attended Sheridan for glass and ceramics and decided to major in ceramics.
"There is something about how tangible and tactile clay is. Even though it passes through a kiln multiple times, you are always handling and manipulating your pieces. Something I felt I couldn't get with any other media."
After graduating in 2001 from The Craft and Design program majoring in ceramics, I was married to my fabulous husband and began managing S&S Pottery Supplies in Kitchener, a division of The Pottery Supply House in Oakville Ontario. Shortly after, I set up a studio beside the store where I am lucky enough to create all my work. Life is very busy now juggling two kids and creating two distinct lines of work that is forever evolving.
Over the years I have participated in many solo and group exhibitions and currently my work is exhibited and sold in galleries and shops all over Ontario and Quebec. A few places you can find my work are @ The Clay and Glass Gallery, Gallery M, Meta 4, and online through my Etsy shop and you can come visit me at any of my upcoming shows! See what I m up to via my Instagram.
"I am so fortunate to be doing what I love every day. From dealing with customers in the pottery shop, helping them with their creative journey and also having the opportunity to make and sell my own work is deeply satisfying."
