Saggar Fired Pottery
Saggar refers to a container. I use containers inside my gas kiln to trap fumes from organics and metals to capture patterns and markings into the surface of the pottery. I use a porcelain clay that is highly burnished with a soft cloth. Some examples of materials I use are copper wires, steel wool, straw and many other items I experiment with.
My saggar fired pottery is not safe for food or for containing water.
